In  order to obtain a taxi License, a medical examination should take place before the application stage and again when the renewal of your license is due. All taxi drivers must pass a medical test before being granted their license to operate. The tests are carried out to ensure that taxi drivers are in good enough health to safely drive a private hire vehicle or hackney carriage on public roads. The frequency of the test is determined by the council.x

How To Acquire For Taxi/Private Hire Medical

If you need a medical for a Taxi License, you must check with your local Licensing Authority please kindly come with a copy of your medical records from your GP. Some Councils insists on the medicals being done by your Gp please kindly confirm this from your GP before attending.

There are certain medical conditions that could affect your ability to pass a taxi driver test, and each would need to be taken into consideration by the doctor carrying out your assessment. If for any reason you fail on the day and recommendations are made you will be offered a free retest after you have sorted the recommendations out.
